Wish he would get more serious roles...

Personally I'd like to see SWS get more "serious" acting roles. The silly comedies are getting old. I'm sure others here like the comedies better, but sorry, not me.

SWS should get more serious roles. He's capable. At least I think so.

I totally agree, but he is still type-cast, and, from what I heard, a large portion of the public do not know his name, while they know "Stifler".

On the other hand, there is Seann himself. While he surely has the capabilities to play a serious role, note that the guy is a team worker (and a very good one, it seems) and (or should I use: but? ) he is NOT competitive. I mean that he would hardly fight for a role which is 'open' to many actors. More likely, he will restrict himself to what is offered to him... and that is the question (and the problem): what is offered to him? He got many 'small productions' opportunities, but unfortunately, those productions have problems of their own (I still have to see "Trainwreck" ).

Note that I still like his Stifler, but can he really renew that kind of character, or would it be a repetition of what has already been proven to work, and so, repeat Stifler over and over? I hope A couple of Dick (or a couple or cops, or whatever title it would be) could help to start some transition... but it is just expectations from my part.

And after all, he surely has most of the required capabilities to become what he want to become too, in a society supplying opportunities to complement what is missing, and what he becomes is a choice that belong to him. After all, maybe all what he wants is, maybe, to become anonymous and to die from lung cancer after having spent his life in smoking cigarettes? :-)

Yes, of course. The ultimate decision/responsibility on what roles to agree to play lies with SWS himself. Maybe he is simply not being offered heavier roles. Maybe his agent/team needs to encourage/push him to take more challenging roles. Maybe he needs to push his agent/team to put his name forward for these roles.

I am certainly not intending to judge the rights/wrongs of the situation. I am merely stating a wish. Hopefully now that wish has been posted in the interverse someone somewhere will read it and think "Hey, y'know what? They have a point. SWS WOULD be cool in this role. Let's ask him to do it?"

You never know, my cunning plan might just work. It might not, but its worth a shot.

I think everybody is still waiting for his breakthrough performance in that category. From what I hear It is Trainwreck, but that movie was completed over 3 years ago.I hear Seann lit it up big time in that movie. They still can`t find a distributer for that movie?I saw one sight that said 2009 limited release, who knows.I thought he was really good in a dramatic role for Southland Tales, although that movie got panned by the critics.Seann is a big A list star in most circles,he is probably waiting for a nice juicy role soon.

The problem, with WAITING, is that he receives only what it is send to him, and that is probably mostly Stifler kind of roles. WAITING is the problem, and his personal behavior, being not competitive, does not help. I don't mean he has to become competitive, surely not, but he has to compensate and be ACTIVE ( not waiting ), as he was BEFORE American Pie! But maybe he physically cannot be that active anymore, now smoking too much :-)

(As if I was in position to make these kinds of suggestions, in the first place... :0 )

Ya you could be right there Vandergast
Maybe he feels that he can do some crazy comedies for the next couple of years, and make 10 million a movie doing that.Maybe that is why he is not too competive auditioning for Serious stuff.I don`t know Seann personally, but it might get to him a bit, knowing he is typecast and not taken seriously. On the other hand,I thought I read somewhere that he would love auditioning for more dramatic roles.I think he said in days past, that he auditioned for American beauty, and jarhead. Both Sam Mendes movies, however he lost out.So let`s hope he does do Drama in the near future.I see that happening, but right now we can only speculate.

I just don't understand all the hype about "The Godfather". It's such a bad movie, poorly directed and with bad acting. All that violence makes me sick. My vote is 1.

You stupid moron for the last time I tell you I'm right and you're wrong. If you don't shut up immediately you'll be sorry.

"Shawshank Redemption" is one of the worst movies I've seen. The actors are so awful, they don't know what they're doing. And I mean it goes without saying that Tim Robbins would've fallen in love with Mark Rolston, I know I would have. He was such a hot stud. Imagine the two of them making love on Robbin's bunk bed. The director selfishly cheated us out of such a marvelous scene.

I loved this movie. I have similar fantasies to the ones the protagonist had. Sometimes I dream I proudly walk the streets of my hometown wearing only my pink boots. All men eye me hungrily. And the women ask me with amazement what I do to keep my skin so smooth and cleanly shaved.

I simply hated that movie. Everybody in it was so ugly.

My favorite movie is The Piano. That scene where Harvey Keitel boldly shows Holly Hunter what he's made of still makes me drool.

I loved that movie because I love animals. But I love them more than ordinary people do. It makes me blush. I intend to write a book about my experiences. I already have a title: "The Beastmaster".

I loved that movie "Confessions of a Shopaholic". That movie is about me. It's 10/10 for sure. I loved it.

I recently saw Mr Woodcock, and liked this guy much better playing it straight, rather than the IQ challenged characters that he usually plays. He'd be great in a dramatic role, or just a less goofy role in a comedy. He should be Bradley Cooper, not Zach Galifianakis.
