Kiss final tour

Do you believe that this really is the last tour? Will Gene and Paul make new music?

reply

I wouldn’t’ be surprised if this ends up not being their final tour. They’ve already had a farewell tour and they didn’t stand by it.

Both Gene & Paul have talked about the possibility of the band continuing without either one of them in it.

There's a slew of KISS tribute bands running around. Eventually, there will surely be one "officially licensed" by whoever owns the KISS empire.

They keep extending this Final Tour which is playing into a prediction I made. If Metallica can tour endlessy for 5 years to support the black album, then Kiss can easily crank out a ten year farewell tour. It's just a gimmick and it gets them out of having to think up new names for a tour every year.

They've been on this "farewell" tour for at least the last 20 years now.

And I’m fine with that.

The rock & roll world is better with KISS still in it….than with KISS gone.

Soon enough, all the great classic rock legends will be dead and gone….and we will be stuck with Travis Scott, K-Pop, The Weekend and Beiber.

Happy then?

I pay less than zero attention to those artists, who aren't even remotely close to being "rock"

Gene & Paul are in their 70's. Tommy Thayer & Eric Singer are both around 60 now (more or less)

There are still a lot of newer rock bands out there who still make music like the classic bands. And always will be.

Kiss were great in their heyday, but frankly I think they've overstayed their welcome. Just like The Rolling Stones (Bones!!), with Jagger & Richard's both pushing 80 & showing it badly. You've got to know when to quit. Elvis didn't, & got fat, went to Vegas, chose crappy songs to do, then died on the toilet!

Actually makes sense. Why should Gene and Paul go out there, if they can hire some lookalikes to do the work for them. A lot of KISS fans probably wouldn't notice or care anyway as long as they play their favorite songs.

reply

"Final" Tour. They have been doing "Final" Tours for at least two decades.

It's just a loooooooong final tour. 😉
