They were good entertainers, as shown by their popularity. It's all subjective.
shareWas a big fan of them in their heyday, but in hindsight they were kinda a betwixt & between kind of band: a little too "pop" to be flat out "rock" & a little too "rock" to be flat out "pop". For me, they were a gateway to much better bands like Zep, Sabbath, etc, etc.
shareNo one compares them to Zeppelin or Aerosmith. There is a place for great stage performances in rock. Kiss did that. But I never would have been caught dead listening to them.
