Of course we know now that Jean Smart is not in the list for this years emmy best supporting actress nom but does anyone knows if she will be at least be one of the presentor. I think as last years winner she will be presenting the award for best supporting actor in a comedy series. Am i right? if not then only Applegate the only one among the cast of Samantha Who attending this years Emmy and unlike last she and Jean Smart were both there.
shareUnlike the Oscars, the Emmys don't have a presenting system in which the previous years winner is a near automatic presenter at the next year's ceremony (taking for example last year were Julia Louis Dreyfuss presented the best supporting actress to Jean - Julia hadn't won in two years) - the Emmys can be quite random in their choices, anything from people with new shows to promote to celebrities in the news. The only sure presenters at the Primetime Emmy ceremony are those who win in the guest actor/actress category at the Creative Arts Emmys a week before. As the Emmy ceremony approaches the academy and this years tv host CBS will begin to announce the names of those presenting but there is no sure way of knowing until she is or isn't named if Jean will be one of them.
