The least influential superstar?
I've noticed that Britney's music is hardly ever singled out as an inspiration for other artists. Katy Perry and Miley have name-checked her a few times, but she never seems to inspire many artists whose work has serious standing in the industry. As likeable as Britney is, she's more of a celebrity than a serious singer. The BOMT album - Britney's 30 million-selling debut - isn't regarded as a classic, influential piece of work. It's as frivolous as it was in 1999.
