Favorite AW movie

There are a lot of movies and they are all good. I think I have three favorites, "The Grand Canyon," "How to make an American Quilt," but one movie I have always loved was "Down in the Delta."

Good choices. Ms. Woodard always turns out a solid performance. She has so many to pick from. I love her. My favorite is probably Funny Valentines (hadn't been able to see it for years until the last year or so), and it's just as good as I remember.

But the other roles that stand out to me and are also favorites are:

Crooklyn (underrated gem)
Down in the Delta
Miss Evers Boys (her chemistry with Fishburne is amazing)
The Wishing Tree (love Blair's performance most of all but she contributed to the awesomeness, good chemistry here too)

She impressed me in The Mary Thomas Story and Love and Basketball as well (dealing with her husband).

Black on black PF Flyers are a thing of beauty.

Alfre Wooddard is one of those remarkable actresses that takes any part big or small and makes it memorable...(sadly the best actresses of color or ethnicity are given less opportunity to shine in larger roles). With her remarkable body of work I truly believe that her turn in Miss Evers Boys is one of the best performances even captured on film in any medium "I loved those men...they were susceptible to kindness...and I gave them all I had"...a stunning scene burned into my memory.

PASSION FISH.
One of my very favorite movies, and the scene where her character tells off "Mae Alice" (in the kitchen) is phenominal.
I will watch Ms. Woodard in anything she does.
