Does she have EMMY record

She has been nominated a bunch of times.

I think other performers have more nominations - but it does seem she has a record for the most number of different characters that have won her Emmy nominations - only the role of Roxanne Turner has been a multiple nominee.

She doesn't have the overall record, no -- I think that honor lies with Cloris Leachman or someone. Alfre Woodard does, however, have the most Emmys of any African-American actress, beating out Cicely Tyson's record in 2003.

I remember her part in Hill St Blues. One thing to keep in mind: she is very well respected and liked in Hollywood, they find her good to work with, highly professional etc so that sort of thing factors into her having all those awards. I doubt she'd be so awarded if she were a difficult to tolerate diva even if she was phenomenally talented.

Alfre Woodard have a new Emmy nomination for Pictures of Hollis Woods (Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie)

Actually, the OP is correct. To date, Alfre Woodard has been Emmy-nominated for performances in 14 different roles (4 wins, 15 nominations overall), a record. Cloris Leachman has been nominated for performances in only 9 different roles, plus 3 times for performances as herself (8 wins, 21 nominations overall).

Yeah, you're right. Wow. I must not've read the original post properly.
