Deserved an Oscar nomination for 'Passion Fish'...

She was wonderful in 'Passion Fish'! She was definitely snubbed.

I couldn't agree more with the both of you.

Thank God she won the indie world's Oscar equivalent (the Independent Spirit Award) for her work in "Passion Fish." If her powerhouse performance had gone completely unrecognized, it would have been such an injustice.

Yet, as consistently brilliant as she is there have been other memorable characterizations of hers that have been overlooked, namely her amazing work in Spike Lee's "Crooklyn," Morgan Freeman's "Bopha," and Gurinder Chadha's "What's Cooking?"

for which movie role did she get an oscar nomination?

Her only oscar nomination to date was for Cross Creek.

She deserved a nomination at least for Passion Fish - and in such a weak year for lead actresses I think she would have gotten one had they rightly campaigned her for lead alongside Mary McDonnell, rather than insultingly sticking her in support.
