he may be average or worse, but not a hack, because I can recognise his style, his movies are decent in terms of pacing and editing. A true hack has no distinctive voice, like Tim Story and Ratner, and don't compare him to Boll, that *beep* is on a whole different dimension of bad.

It's a mystery, but one's thing for sure - he's been living off the back of Event Horizon for waaaaay too long now (and it's not like that was a solid gold classic anyway).
I wish studios would stop giving him work. We might have had a decent Resident Evil reboot by now if he wasn't still churning out his excrement.
