Tremendous performance in "The Big Short"

I was completely blown away by his work in this movie. Hilarious and layered. The movie was lacking anytime he was not on screen. If he doesn't receive a Best Actor nomination it will be a major miss on the Academy's part.

Best of the year:Whiplash, 12 Years a Slave, Life of Pi, Drive, the Social Network

I agree. He was absolutely phenomenal in The Big Short. He even outshined Bale, Gosling and Pitt (al of which have good performances)

Agree 100%, his facial expression during the meeting where the guy was explaining CDO to him was so good that I can actually felt the anger building up inside him.

There were so many emotions to his character in this movie from anger to sad to enlighten and he portrait each of them perfectly, there were so many dimensions to his acting.

THIS is the actor to look out for, he's oscar worthy and I predict he'll probably win one in the near future.

He was the moral compass of the movie. I took my actor friend to see the movie (she is always really good at calling Oscar races and such) and as the credits rolled she turned to be and just said "Steve Carell. Holy *beep* I hadn't told her how much I loved him, so that was all the more exciting. She said that he is well on his way to becoming one of Hollywood's great actors along the lines of Tom Hanks. She knows he will win an Oscar soon and was floored that he was snubbed this year.

If the movie about the Riggs/King "Battle of the Sexes" tennis match happens and is well received, this might be his shot. It's a juicy character Steve is perfect for.

JudgementTime, "Try cucking less."
