They have fantastic chemistry. I'd be surprised to learn they never hooked up for real. However, Jimmy is a horrible person. He's too lazy to make something of himself so he resorts to a life of crime. That alone makes him a liability. Yeah he may genuinely love and care for Fiona and her family, and does everything he can to help them, but he won't be doing them any favors if he's caught and ends up behind bars.
