Ugh, so now THIS guy is a thing?

I'm an American, so James Corden was off my radar until they announced him as Craig Ferguson's replacement a couple of days ago. I'd never heard of him.

I was immediately struck by how annoying he looked in every photo I saw of him in the articles. In each, he wore a really cocky expression and/or was striking over-the-top poses.

I said, "Who the hell is this guy?" and came onto IMDB to look him up. That's when I saw the wave of negative commentary on these boards. My curiosity piqued, I went on YouTube to check out some of his work.

All I can say is, I'm firmly in the camp of those who think this dude is an egotistical, obnoxious hack. It's unfortunate that CBS is going to put him on tv, because now there'll be yet another a$$hole on the periphery that I'll have to tolerate. Sure, I can elect to not watch the show, but I can't avoid commercials, billboards and, eventually, news stories and "viral videos" of this dude's carrying-on. How many annoying people in show business are we supposed to bear?

I envy your total lack of real problems.

"You liked Rashomon."
"That's not how I remember it."

Ye cos the james corden message board on imdb is really the place to speak about real problems. You might as well make that same post on every forum on here every time someone has a moan

reply

So don't watch the show.

Next problem please....

ps: if you call a phenomenon "a thing" and you're not a 17 year old tumblr girl, you deserve to be unhappy.

Americans take their iconic show seriously.

Yeah, don't worry OP the vast majority of people in the UK can't stand him. A gander at any recent piece on Corden will clarify this.

Of course you're going to get the odd person on IMDb who favours his comedy, but he is just not funny and he doesn't seem like a nice guy either, that stunt with Patrick Stewart for one thing. When attempting to insult Stewart he came off as quite self-indulgent and uppity.

Also found out he's replacing Craig Ferguson on the US talk show he does, now I'm no fan of Ferguson but what he did, he did it very well IMO.

No big deal, the US prefer Graham Norton over him, and as do I. He's a bit OTT, but Norton has been great with and everyone of his guests and isn't full of himself.

"im beautiful your not" - me
"you're* " - you

Watch A League of Their Own, he's hilarious. Seems like a genuiely nice guy.

He'll last five minutes on the US talk show "the late late show"!
