Walked past him today

And just said "Hi" and nodded as if to say "I know you from TV."

And the *beep* ignored me.

I wasn't hassling him for an autograph, just one word to say hello and he acted as if I didn't exist.

What a nob.

reply

If a complete stranger said hello to me in the street I might not say hello back....it doesn't make me a nob!!!

That's a very retarded comparison. Unlike you, genius, he is a "celebrity" and has an obligation to at least acknowlege someone who recognizes him. Stars depend on their fans for their living, not vice versa.

The guy is a douchbag, simple and clean.

You should have given as good as you got and shouted over to him "Fine, Ignore me then you overweight, pie-munching, unfunny fat-*beep*!!!! The sooner the public lose interest in this talentless waste of flesh and bone the better!

No. If I - as a 'non-celebrity' - don't recognise someone who does recognise me; I'm going to take into account the circumstances of the situation rather than give an automatic response... Why shouldn't they do the same?! They're not paid to be polite, they're paid to act. I'd change the channel if they weren't good at their job, but if they were rude to me I'd just mutter something under my breath and carry on my way. Why do you think you should be able to influence someone's career over an act committed on their time off?! The two don't have anything to do with one another.

Ok well how long will his career be if no one is there to watch him? Who would pay him to act if they know the audience thinks he's a jackass and wont tune in? Say what you want but just like in customer service, it all boils down to your customer, ie fans. They will determine his fate.

reply

Well this is one fan of celebrities who doesn't care if they are rude, just likes to see them do their job... I'm sure that others feel the same way as I do. As I said; working hours and personal time should be separated from each other, because one has nothing to do with the other.

It's almost as absurd as getting mad at your plumber because he won't have a beer with you. He's paid to fix your sink, not to be your best buddy. If you want someone to be nice and sociable with, then go hang out with your real friends where you actually have a close relationship with one another.

Do I care if my plumber is an ass, so long as he does his job properly and plays straight with me financially? No. To me a personable attitude is an optional extra - a pleasant bonus, but not absolutely essential. (at least in the field of acting - I can see how if you make your living as a personal assistant or something similar, then it should be seen differently... )

Why are people such thin-skinned sensitive crybabies that they can't cope with not getting along with each other even if a professional arrangement still works in spite of this?!

Yes but if i saw my plumber on the street and said hi, he'd say hi back! James Corden=Prick

reply

Obviously some plumbers are nice, but it's an analogy... There are certain people of whom your only expectation should be that they do their job, with nothing else into the bargain. I feel that this is one of those times.

He may well be an ignorant person, but it's not against the law to be ignorant... If he's rude to you, then by all means be rude back, but it shouldn't affect your relationship with his work...

Besides, you've had one-to-one interaction with your plumber before; in all likelihood, you haven't with James Corden...
