What's the appeal?

I just don't understand why she gets chosen for projects. What I mean is what is her "it" factor, cuz I just am not understanding what the appeal is supposed to be. I'm not trying to be hurtful, really, i just don't vet it.

Cotillard has the phenomenal ability to completely disappear into characters. That's one reason many people don't know who she is, because she vanishes into someone else. In addition, she is throughly professional, always on time, knows her lines, does her work as well as she can, never talks bad about anyone, has no scandals to uncover, and is a pure artist who lives for her work. Also a very nice, funny, charming woman who says, "I'm just a normal person with an unusual life." Who wouldn't want to work with or just be around someone like that?

Her immense talent. Her classic beauty. Her big heart.

You really want to know the answer? OK, I'll give it to you: because besides her talent and look, she has a hugely important thing for an actor who wants to get the best roles - a strong relationship with director's world, the main moving force for the artistic side of cinema. Take a look at some of the names she worked with: Nolan, Mann, Burton, Allen, Lynch, Scott, Soderbergh, Audiard, Dardenne Brothers, and that's only the best of them. What other actress can boast of a list like that? Marion chooses the directors, and the directors choose her.

Nolan, I love you forever!

Brilliant. Thanks.

Her acting, her insanely expressive face and emotional range.
Marion can morph and become the role she plays. Just watch "La Vie en Rose", "Two Days One Night".

First I agree with the others. She gets completely into her parts Her face is so expressive and her voice can be so sensual yet at times sound so innocent.

Her appeal is "Good acting" and her "Expressive face" which portrayed every emotion like mirror.

I guess it's an "eye of the beholder" type thing. I've haven't enjoyed her work and i kinda find her distractingly difficult to look at. But that's just my opinion, not tryna throw salt. She always looks like she has a headache to me.
