Supporting actress nod for Allied?

The trailer looks amazing and Marion does too , but idk if the film will get nods for the Oscars... It is weird they hadn't presented it to any festival...

reply

Marion is leading, unless they fraud her in a very embarrassing way.

Many films have been nominated without playing in a festival so that doesn't mean much. But Allied can be selected to AFI Fest in November, it happens two weeks before the US release.

I think this year she should be considered as supporting... Leading actrees this year is full of amazing interpretations (Stone, Portman, David, Streep, etc)... Maybe she has more oportunities in supporting.

reply

Did you even see any of this 'amazing interpretations' by yourself, except Streep? As I know, none of these movies came out in the theaters yet.

Nolan, I love you forever!

reply

I haven't but critics have, and they say that... And sadly, in awards our opinions don't matter, only critics' do

reply

I hope not because it would be ridiculous to campaign for her as supporting. She won't attend awards season anyway, she'll give birth by then.

reply

She can make it for supporting depending on her space in the film.

In Macbeth for example, she was clearly a supporting role with the leading feel.

It's so sad she wasn't in contention for Macbeth, her performance is so perfect in that film.

I really hope that in Allied she'll have enough space to be brilliant.

reply

Actually, one of these films are still in post-production now, so they technically couldn't see it.

Wait till they say what they have to say about Marion in Allied.
