Why didn't he keep working with Apatow's crew?

Hi, I realize you wrote this quite a bit ago but I would definitely be interested in hearing an answer to this question. Everybody on here seems more interested in his recent work, which is garbage. It does seem odd that he has not worked with Apatow but that might be due to many factors. First, Apatow seems to choose actors he likes as people. He likes weird people, people who are good at improv, and also actors who are aspiring writers. Perhaps Daley just is not that interesting/cool of a person. Daley could also be avoiding Apatow productions because he wants to work on different projects not connected with his childhood role on Frecks and Gecks.

Well, he was a kid when they first filmed Freaks & Geeks. Most of the other actors were old enough to build relationships with him and connect to Apatow outside of the show (like Rogen writing the Superbad script and having him read it over).

I think that John was hired on Freaks and Geeks because of Paul Feig and not Apatow. Since Sam was based on Paul as a kid I think that is why he never bonded with Judd. I wish he would be in some Apatow stuff. After the photo shoot with Vanity Fair maybe they'll work together. I'd love to see the whole cast back together... so good.

I agree with some of the other posters. I think it's an age thing. He was only 14 at the time and the freaks were older, which is why they bonded with Judd apatow. I think it would have been hard for apatow to picture Daley in adult roles because he was so young. I don't think it's because he's not an interesting person or a writer. Didn't be cowrie horrible bosses and some other pretty well known movies?

I always assumed its cause he wasn't Jewish. Just an assumption.

I just assumed it was because he wanted to be respected.
