It's his eyes and drawn out face that makes him look older. Nevermind the natural hair-loss because there are older men who have less but look younger because their face looks healthy. To me he looks like an insomniac
shareIt's not the eyes, his big eyes make him look younger actually and will be what will remind you of that little kid from Dutch. It really is the hair, it makes you look so much older and middle aged. Check him in The Devils Candy.
Lol, I sound like a promoter of that film. I keep mentioning it because I just watched the film today and remembered him, and was surprised how young he looked compared to before.
Glad someone isn't a critic.

shareI hear many drugs don't really age you unlike smoking and heavy drinking. It's the junkie lifestyle that ages you, when you've spiraled so out of control and you sacrifice everything just to purchase it and don't bathe, become a prostitute, live on the streets, etc.

I was shocked when I seen him recently in an interview! He is my age, and I have smoked but quit recently. But I don't look like that!!!!! Thank God
shareHe went through at least 4 different stages of aging.
1. Dutch -- Well, he was a 13 year old kid at the time.
2. Vegas Vacation / Can't Hardly Wait -- He looked his best during this time.
3. Vacancy -- I could still recognize him, but his hair was thinning.
4. The Walking Dead (S6:E1) -- After seeing his name in the opening credits, I had to wait until the show was over, backtrack, then I said, "Oh yea, he was Carter!" That's how much he's changed. The only thing that gave him away were his eyes...when he acts they display a cool "nervous" quality.
Seriously. He's almost 8 yrs younger than Andrew Lincoln but I thought he was older on TWD.
