Before We Go

I read someone's Tweet that 1:30 Train will be at the Toronto Film Festival. I tried Googling, but couldn't find any information. Has anyone heard anything?

Well, I found this article that is old, but interesting. It's Weintraub and he certainly knows how to ask the questions. He's a great interviewer. Anyway, they talk about 1:30 Train(and y'all may have already seen it or linked it, so I apologize if it's a repeat). What's interesting is that 'W' suggests that Chris take the movie to Sundance instead of TIFF.

So here's the link:

Weintraub is right, Sundance is better for first time directors, smaller films and Indies. TIFF though is the biggest public film festival in the world and is one of the top festivals in attracting buyers and publicity. It's also seen as a test market for many late fall/winter releases.

Timing may also be an issue. Sundance is in January which means even if the film was picked up a distributor that week it might not be released until the end of 2015.

Bringing his film to a festival also requires doing the publicity rounds in addition to any possible deal making and Sept might fit his schedule better than Jan if he's still planning to direct a movie before he has to start on Cap 3 and promoting AoU in the Spring.

Thanks Jess_Evs I don't think I'd read that before or if I had I've forgotten.
It's been said before on this board but I'll say it again - Steve Weintraub is the business when it comes to interviewing Chris. They speak like good friends who are really into talking about films. The perfect Chris interviews.

Picap, I know I should know this as a die-hard supporter but when does Cap 3 start shooting?

Yep. He's fantastic! I love reading or watching his interviews with Chris.

If they follow past timelines, they'll probably start filming in February for Cap 3. There's talk they'll return to Cleveland to film parts of it. Cleveland in February...sounds lovely all of the sudden. lol I do have friends who live there......
