So that’s why his Marvel shows suck

Feige and other Marvel execs just fired the writers and directors of the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series because they didn’t like what they saw in the first few episodes.

In an article announcing the lay offs, it was revealed that since debuting WandaVision in 2021, Marvel has forgoed the traditional TV-making model. The studio didn’t commission pilots and had instead shot entire seasons of TV. It also didn’t hire showrunners.

Marvel instead treated TV shows like it did movies by relying on film executives to run its series and using post-production and reshoots to fix what’s not working.

The method hasn’t been beneficial for the studios though, especially with the revamp of Daredevil: Born Again and declining responses from critics and audiences. Now, the studio is moving to make TV shows the traditional way.

Feige needs to be fired. He’s an idiot.

tv shows rarely have re-shoots , there is actually no time for it , what an idiot

If you don't want to sit through the video, it basically says Kevin Feige now has a new approach to movie making, basically he lets directors shoot, say, a quarter of a movie, then review it and decide whether it works or change direction, so basically he has very tight control over what goes in the Marvel movies and TV shows (yet he lets she hulk happen).

But that also means re-shoots are very common, basically a part of movie making process, and dramatically driving up the production cost of movies.

That is OK when Marvel making huge profit, not so much when it is not happening anymore.

It also explains why he likes to use inexperienced directors. Few established directors would allow a producer doing that to them.
