the 'Series' Killer

I feel sorry for this guy, or should I say the shows they decide to cast him for, coz they never last long. This guy can take down a show faster than Fox can keep spitting them out. Anywayz, if u got a series which u really really hate and want it off the air, then try getting him for a guest appearance or something, that will do the trick :D

Sure, its HIS fault...

Jake 2.0 was cancelled because of the "we have no good timeslot
left, let put it against CSI or the chixx comedy evening"-crazyness.
Then see the "Rookie" failing against the Pros and start pointing
fingers...

Jake was performed well, it could have runned for seasons. But
the network (and probably the viewers) never really got into it.

Medical Investigation is something different: there are now about
eight (!) CSI-esque shows out there - how many do the target
audience looks ? Two a day ? They tried to mix it with the
medical-theme, but there are also about 10 medical shows out
there (and the most are, more or less, pure chick-evenings).

The core audience is quite saturated, the medical stuff is simply
a deviation from CSI, NCIS, Law+Order, Numb3rs...booohring.

It's not his fault - it MORE quite remarkable, that he can get so
many fixed cast gigs one after the another. Others try that for years
to be an extra somewhere...

Even Elisha Cuthbert, who is probably the most public dissed series
character ever, can't do anything when the writers/management *beep*
it up. If casting a certain character really causes a series to fail,
its the fault of the management, not of the actor. Just don't book
her/him then.

Lauren Graham acted in three failed shows in a row as fixed cast.
And now she run probably more than 7. Seasons of one the funniest
shows ever made.

Alots of people simply run away if the first or second show doesn't
cut it. Alots save themselves in Theater, Advertisments - or simply
run away from the industry. Even when you work on 20 shows for only
5 or 20 eps, you made it - somehow.

Others in Tinseltown would LIKE to be character in a short seven ep
run on the BIG TV screen. They would KILL for it.

Until Supernatural I always had Jensen Ackles pegged as the Series Killer [and yes I am a fan]. He joined Dark Angel, it ended, he joind Smallville for a season and it ended [or at least the rumors of it ending began], he tried to do Dead Like Me [or some such], never got past the pilot. There are half a dozen things to his name that ended at the same time he came on board.

That is a series killer - Christopher Gorham, another actor I can watch doesn't have that quality IMO. Look at all of his guest spots, those shows have survived, so it isn't on his head. Jenseon on the other hand ...

yeah, I like this guy, I've seen all his series but I'm so ungry cos never finish anyone!
Unless in USA or UK (I don't know where's the filming) would finish them! (here, in Spain, it is usually not to showing season at all)
so, how can I do? There is no ending for Jack 2.0 and anuy other... we must imagine... puaj!

Now, I'm going on the info from the first post: "This guy can take down a show faster than Fox can keep spitting them out."

Fox kills awesome shows.

Jake 2.0, 16 eps.
Firefly, 14 eps.
John Doe, 21 eps.

He is such an awesome actor, it's not his fault that his shows didn't last.
I hope he'll get another show where he plays the lead, & that it will go on for atleast 3 or 4 seasons.

Felicity was cancelled not long after he joined the cast!

Geez! The poor guy is getting blamed for everything. You can't blame one person for bringing down a show. There are so many factors to be considered in why a show is cancelled. No one actor can be personally responsible for ruining a show.

Felicity, for example, had the same storylines about her choosing between two guys and they dragged that out for pretty much the entire show. And toward the end a huge chunk of the season was just boring as hell.

It has to do with what other shows it is competing with and if they can continue to write interesting storylines that keeps the audience watching. Money is also a big factor so you can't blame everything on him. If anything, he has just been having some bad luck. I personally have always enjoyed him in everything that I have seem him in. He is very underrated as an actor and I really hope Ugly Betty will help his career.

He's on Ugly Betty now, and in my opinion, he helps make that show what it is. The show would still be good without his character, Henry, but it wouldn't be great (no offense anyone), and I doubt it would have the fan base it does. People began watching this show in part because of his character. I say, take him OFF, and the show will die, leave him ON and it will run for years.
