I have no doubt he's suffered hearing loss, most every rock musician that has performed on stage for any significant amount of time has. Hell even ones that never make it beyond playing at weddings and that type of thing have hearing loss.
But he isn't deaf. Being deaf is a lot worse than having moderate or severe hearing loss. His claim that he can still hear what the music when they are mixing songs in a studio means he isn't deaf. Now if he doesn't start wearing some ear protection when performing like most smart musician do, he will eventually become deaf.
