I have no idea who this guy is...

...and I'm very unhappy to see him as the villain in the second Sherlock Holmes. Mark Strong had class.

you'll either love or hate him probably. his speech is kinda quirky and has some odd mannerisms, at least what I saw in Fringe where he played another villain. i was alot more excited about the few episodes he'd make an appearance than anyone else. he may be a bit annoying to some, or may act a different way altogether

I'm going to be honest here and say my first impulse was to reach through the internet (obviously impossible) and throttle you. Mark Strong's character is dead. You "have no idea who this guy is," so you shouldn't talk about his lack of class. His "class" is different than Mark Strong's, and that's okay. He's playing a different villain.
Might I add that he is the son of the legendary Richard Harris?

vraiment? I did not know that. I'll give him a shot then, though the movie sucked big time, turned it off before reaching 40 mins

LOL. Posts like this in the age of the internets & DVDs make me chuckle. Jared Harris is a well-respected actor who's been around for ages. For those who don't know him...

Go rent I SHOT ANDY WARHOL. He plays Warhol.

Then rent DEAD MAN. He plays one of the guys (with B B Thornton & Iggy Pop!!!) who accosts Johnny Depp. Funny stuff.

Maybe see an obscure Kenneth Branagh movie called HOW TO KILL YOUR NEIGHBOR'S DOG.

Then watch BENJAMIN BUTTON. He's Cpt Mike.

Check out a couple of episodes of MAD MEN.

He also shows up in LINCOLN as U.S. Grant.

Believe it or not, this is ALL THE SAME GUY!

He is a brilliant, but sadly underrated, actor. In a fair world he would have as many Oscars as D Day-Lewis.

(And for other fans of wild, chameleon-like actors, check out the career of American actor STEPHEN ROOT. This guy is astounding!)

You sound like an ignorant movie fan.
