'...And I want a woman who is comfortable in the kitchen..'

I hope he didn't actually say this… I hope he was misquoted. Because in this whole Glamour Magazine interview he sounds like a misogynistic *beep*

a falling star, fell from your heart and landed in my eye.

reply

Nope. He definitely did. You should here the part about him not respecting a woman who sleeps with him on the first night. Like umm.. do you respect YOURSELF for sleeping with her on the first night.

Sexist bastard. I hope he goes away soon.

reply

Well hell. Now we know why he's playing Johnny Storm. He's a black version of the Ultimate version! Well, now I'm NEVER going to see the reboot.

reply

He's also hypocritical. He says that since it's 2013 (this was last year) we're free to make Johnny Storm black. But, girls are only useful for cooking in the kitchen. Hypocritical misogynistic *beep*

reply

He's sexist because he wants to date a woman who is comfortable in the kitchen?

I have to disagree. Had he said all women should be comfortable in the kitchen, then yeah, I'd see the fuss about his comments. Hell I'd call him a sexist bastard, too. But just because HE wants to date someone comfortable in the kitchen doesn't make him sexist. That's just a quality he's looking for in his partner.

reply

I agree. And the fact that Michael knows how to cook (both of his parents cook - his dad is a chef/caterer), I do not see the harm in his comment.

What's hypocritical about that? He also never said that girls are only useful in the kitchen, he said that he wanted a woman who know her way around the kitchen. Big difference you disingenuous prick!

Hypocritical misogynistic *beep*

Oh, shut up...you've stood idly by laughing at racist jokes, finding levity in the some of the most deplorable acts all predicated on casting selections, encouraging people to sneak into movies...you're last person to be castigating anyone on morality...you hypocrite!

reply

So it's okay for him to want a woman a certain way but it's not okay for fans to want a character with 50+ years a certain way?

You honestly believe that's an appropriate comparison? That's not even a valid comparison. The interpretation of a character should primarily be contingent on the vision of those involved with the creative process...we as audience shouldn't have a say in the matter... Who you decide to spend the rest of your life with should be entirely up to you.

Are you serious with that question?
