As women get older, they thin their eyebrows too often. They see one extra hair to pluck; then another looks out of place.
Soon enough, the brows look very thin, and they are difficult to grow back.
I still don't get why women are so obsessed with eyebrows. I can see shaping them to make them look better but most women pluck them all out and then draw in new ones that are an inch higher than they should be.

Some women are obsessed because that is what they are taught in beauty magazines and online articles.
Large thick eyebrows are a sign of youth, so mid age women are taught to thin them out to look older and elegant. When they are older, they would like the eyebrows back, but they won't grow back because they actually are a sign of youth, and the women are no longer young.
Hey, the opposite is valid for some older men who let their eyebrows grow out like a Mentat in Dune.
