Good point. Carl thinks he made out in the deal. No harm, no foul??
I truly believe Carl thought he had made a friend for life in Ty, not realizing Ty actually loathed him and wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Carl has probably been waiting in his shack for the past 40 years for Ty to come back and "get weird" with him.
