The most underrated actor working today?

A long time ago I watched Band of brothers, which was my favorite TV show at the time. Today I still consider this as one of the best experience I had on the small screen.

I remember I noticed Damian as being a great actor, part of a team of really good actors.

Then I forgot about him until I heard about Homeland. I didnt get into Homeland until very late (last month). For some reasons. Probably because I thought it was going to be a 24 rip off.

Today I say Homeland is great. And Damian Lewis is the most underrated actor working today. How is that possible that this guy isnt in more movies? He is really talented, showing charisma, masculanity and charm in every scenes he is in.

I see that he is on the course for being the next James Bond, which I dont see happening because producers want to appeal to young audience : biceps and abs everywhere. He should be able to play a great James Bond. Mysterious, dangerous and charming, maybe even better than Daniel Craig. But in a way I hope he doesnt and get the oportunity to star in great movies with great directors.

By the way WTF happened with Spielberg? He was the main producer of Band of brothers and never called him again for another role???

What a lovely day

Well-said. The odd thing about Damian Lewis is that he seems--in real life--to be a regular guy. He's certainly modest and not flashy, and the middle-class demeanor comes across most strongly in the fact that he seems to like to work for work's sake.

I agree with you...I loved Band of Brothers...and like you thought his performance stellar ( among many others in the series ) Admittedly I never watched Homeland but watched him in Wolf Hall and am now watching him in Billions. A true talent.

If you never watched him in Homeland you missed the performance of his career.
