Forsyte Saga

Best damn acting ever Mr. Lewis.

I found him completely repellant in this role; not to say he was bad in it; on the contrary! Seeing him in other roles since I now find him pretty attractive. I'm in the process of watching Forsyte Saga again still find him unappealing. So he must have done an excellent job in that role to be able to project that impression of creepiness.

The actress playing Irene is the one I found repellent.

She was written, directed and played in such a cold, unsympathetic, manner that it made absolutely no sense that all those men kept falling in love with her.

Gena McKee is a good actress but she was totally miscast in the role.

I will never understand how the people making that mini-series could be so unaware that the Irene character they created in this adaptation was so unlikable. That character needed to be one of the most sympathetic people in the series.

Despite his many faults and cruelty, I felt Soames as played by Damien, was too good for Irene.

My wife watched 'Forsythe' based mainly on Lewis' performance in Band of Brothers---she thought Soames Forsythe was a HORRIBLE human being but Lewis was marvelous in a role totally unlike Richard Winters.
