INSURANCE COMPANIES DUMPING ...

Dear Judith, I've been a fan for many years even before I was even aware of your hard work speaking out for Aids patients. You may or not be aware that the Hartford Ins. Co. is dumping policy holders who were fortunate enough to get long term disability through their jobs. Their tactics are intimidating, inaccurate and down right illegal, but some how they seem to manage to dump their policy holders. I know several people personally who received similar treatment from the Hartford in the same month I received a letter stating that they didn't believe I qualified for my benefits. I will be 60 in July and trying just to live on SSD is pretty much impossible. I've lived and owned my own home for 17 years and if my benefits aren't reinstated I will lose my house. Judith, I don't know if there is anything you could do to help my cause but at least you will know how our Ins. Co. are treating their long time surviving policy holders. I am not able to enter the job market at my age and condition. I've lived in Depends for the last 10 years and the other side effects I have do not make me a candidate to compete in today's shrinking job market. I stated my career in a large grocery chain in Florida bagging groceries for $5.25 an hour and topped out at $11.50 and was on my way to management when became ill the first time. Had I not became ill I would have been earning well over $100,000. today. Our country is full of people with hard luck stories and I try not focus too much on my own problems.
