Rest in Peace Sondra Locke

Being a huge Clint Eastwood fan, have to admit, I thought Sondra Locke was one of the best actresses working in the mid 1970s to 1983. Sad day.

How sad this happened on Nov 3rd and it's only now being reported on.

RIP Sondra

Why is it only reported today?

reply

Hey StarWarsRey.....I have no idea why it was not reported earlier. The first time I saw November 3rd I thought it was a typo.

R.I.P. Mrs. Locke.

Sad to know she's been gone for over a month, I can only imagine her family wanted privacy at this time.

According to her death certificate exclusively obtained from Los Angeles Department of Public Health, her immediate cause of death was cardiac arrest due to breast and bone cancer, which she had been battling for three years.

Locke passed away on November 3, 2018 at 74 years old.

She was laid to rest at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park & Mortuary.

Locke was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 1968 film, The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter.

She went on to star in films Sudden Impact, The Gauntlet, and Willard.

Locke dated Eastwood for over 13 years when they first met on the set of the film The Outlaw Josey Wales in 1972.

After their relationship came to a halt, Locke filed a palimony suit in 1989 against Eastwood. She later agreed to drop the suit when Eastwood set up a $1.5 million deal with Warner Bros. for her to develop films.

In 1990, Locke beat breast cancer after undergoing a double mastectomy.

She is survived by her husband, fellow actor Gordon Anderson.

My first celeb crush. RIP

Hey TandyMan the first topless actress I saw was Sondra Locke in The Gauntlet....my dad took me to that movie....and after it ended he said..."I am not taking him to R rated movies ever again"......and he never did again. I think that was when I first noticed her...and had a bit of crush on her myself.

Not the prettiest woman, not the best actress, and seems like she had a troubled relationship with Clint (no Saint himself), but I thought she was unique. A pinched little nose, she looked very serious when she had cause. Don't know what she looked like at 74, but she was prettier than anyone I went to High School with, at least in her prime.

Hey snepts....good breakdown on Sondra Locke...I agree with almost every point you make. For seven years...she and Clint made a good screen team. I think before she got sick she was still looking pretty young...but I think battle with the illness that ultimately claimed her....was rough on her in some many ways. RIP Sondra Locke

Loved her in "Sudden Impact" and several other flicks back in the day.

If you haven't already, check her out in "The Prophet's Game" (2000) with Dennis Hopper, her second to last movie.

Hope to see you on the other side, Sondra!
