Are people serious!!!

I just don't get it at all. I get on IMDB a lot and I'm a big fan of SNL so I'll come across Amy's and Tina Fey's pages every once in a while. There are people on here saying that these two are beautiful or hot and I just don't understand it. They are not ugly but they are extremely average looking and they weren't even that funny on SNL , that belongs to Molly Shannon and Cheri Oteri. They are the nerdy awkward ones that just happened to get famous after they left. Kristen Wiig is not only better looking than them but also funnier.

But SNL actually GAVE them fame. Amy had been a founding member of the UCB troupe, which had their own show on Comedy Central for a while. I actually saw Tina live there, before she was hired for SNL - she did a two-person show with Rachel Dratch.

I guess I don't understand your question or point???
Beauty is subjective. As well as comedy. A lot of people find Amy and Tina funny, therefore that makes them attractive. People don't have to be models to be attractive - personality is most important thing. If you base your personal judgment on how someone looks you won't be a very happy person.

They are both girl next door cute.

They are cute but not so much that they look unattainable.

In TV/film you get bombarded with so many actors and actresses that look way out of your league/unrelatable because of how attractive they are so it is nice to see someone that looks similar to the people that you see on the streets and whatnot.

This is still very much a controlled aspect of TV and they would be struggling to find jobs on screen the second the stopped looking girl next door cute (just look at their friend rachel dratch's career/interviews if you have any doubts about that)
