Stupid Emmys

I hate it that she didn't win an Emmy tonight.
I expected it, but I still really can't believe that she has never won and will never win an Emmy for portraying Leslie Knope.

(And of course Parks and Rec should've won too haha)

True. She was so robbed, just like Steve Carrell was all those years for The Office. I think maybe it's because they both fit so perfectly into their roles that their acting seemed invisible, whereas a flashier role like the one on Veep seemed like the actress is trying harder.

I have to admit I don't really get Julia Louis-Dreyfus getting this award every single year. I enjoy watching her and have watched her religiously on all three shows she's been on, but she has basically played the same character on all three shows. If anything, I think she was best in New/Christine because, while the other two characters were manic and unsympathetic and crazy, that character at least had a hint of vulnerability. I guess I don't understand awarding the same performance over and over when the actor hasn't really done anything different. They've stopped giving Jim Parsons the award every year (He wasn't even nominated this year), and it would make sense to award someone different in the actress category as well.

I agree! How many Emmys does the Academy have to give to the same person before they realize that there are also others that really deserve one....

I was sad all night...

It really sucks that Amy Poehler was never recognized by the Emmys for her iconic role of Leslie Knope. I love Veep and Julia Louis-Dreyfus but the Emmy this year should've gone to Amy.
