Sergio Gil on 20/20

People have mentioned this on the other board on Leah's A&E show, but how are so many able to leave the church with not very much education, sometimes not even knowing how to drive, but they go on to live in these really nice homes in a middle to upper-class lifestyle?

I noticed this last night when they were interviewing Sergio. He looked very young, maybe no more than 19, yet he left the church, disconnected from his family, but was living in this nice apartment. I figured he would be living in a flop house and struggling, but none of the ex-Scientologists seem to be doing that.

EDIT: Oh, I read online that he is actually 36, but he looks very young. Also, he supposedly quit Scientology four years ago, so it wasn't as recent as I thought.

One thing I did strongly suspect is that he's gay and that was confirmed. I thought that may have been how he had the nice apartment because it was a boyfriend's place not his. I thought his family were going to come out and say that when they kept saying he was a liar. If they did it was edited out.
