He told the story of his first sexual intercourse with a highschool junior, when he was 16. Isnt that illegal?

At 16 he's also underage so I don't think it qualifies as statutory rape.

Both of them committed a misdemeanor, if all cases like this were prosecuted the courts would have no time for anything else.

Almost everyone I know lost their virginity in exactly this way, consensually, between ages 15 and 18, with a partner within that age group also.
