The Wire

You should see her in The Wire Season 2. Again, showing her versatility. It's not a flashy role, but she's able to flesh out such a realistic nuanced character, its a pleasure to watch.

i clicked on her link on the news page to see what else she had done. The i saw the wire listed and remembered who it was. Good to see a wire alum getting a glowing endorsement from a major hollywood player (even if it is ben affleck lol)

Does anybody know if she will be in season 5? She should be (unless McNulty *beep* it up again).

She's in Season 5, and McNulty is back to his old drinking and screwing barchicks ways.

Yeah, it was inevitable that McNulty would do that both because it seems in keeping with his character, but also because it makes for more drama. There's a brief shot of Amy in the second episode of this season waiting for McNulty while he's out boozing it up. She was looking pretty stunning. I had a big crush on her from season 2. Glad to see that she's getting more work and recognition.

Actually, it was the first episode (1/6/2008). She doesn't even have any speaking lines (although a potted McNulty is talking to her character on a phone in a bar, we only experience his side of the conversation.

She just gets up, walks around their house and finds him missing. She's already aware of what's happening, and like you said, it's going to make for more drama. I know from reading Dominic West's diary of the last days of filming production with 'The Wire', that Beadie Russell will be in more episodes.

The diary I speak of comes from UK's The Guardian, I HIGHLY recommend reading it. Most of the serious spoilers have been removed. Here is the link:

NOTE: You have to scroll quite a ways down the page, but the article itself is an incredible read and I read most of the other diaries.

Amy Ryan's going to be appearing in more episodes, and was filming with the rest of the cast and crew during the final days. That's fantastic and speaks volumes about the show's integrity that despite her career waxing she returned to finish it. Season 4 was rated 98% through metacritic, making it the highest rated season for a drama ever... and although Beadie made "cameo" appearances in a couple of episodes last season, it still worked into the mosaic of how happy she and McNulty were in their home life before he returned to Major Crimes. Even Dominic West, the leading actor appeared in less than 90% of that season and it still broke hearts across the nation (and hopefully the world... any fans outside the U.S. of A?), and showed the dramatic fallout of our National Leader's "No Child Left Behind" plan.

This season is the final and the shortest, three down and only seven episodes left until the final credit roll. It's moving at quite a pace, but it's still working that magic. I seriously wonder if this show will be appearing on more campuses in the future. It should be required viewing, even in High Schools. This is a portait of American Life. Not some bullcrap cop procedural like the 'CSI'/'L&O' franchises, which are merely entertainment, and not so rooted in reality as one might think.

I'll admit I watch them sometimes, but nothing satisfies like 'The Wire'.
