Oscar for Amy!!!

I think she deserves a Oscar nomination come next year for best supporting actress! She was Phenomenal! Hands down, she had one of the greatest lines in movie history, "oh my god, I feel like *beep* 9/11"! But aside from that, her accent, her demeanor as Helene portrayed what really goes on with mothers like that and how their kids are the ones that suffer. As a Bostonian myself, I see people like Helene everyday and for a moment thought Ms. Ryan was actually one of them, then having to snap out of it and realizing that it was a movie! She was that good, and was the BEST part of Gone Baby Gone! I really hope she gets the Oscar nod she deserves and maybe even win!

I recently viewed 'Gone Baby Gone' and I have to say that Amy Ryan, who is a very little-known actress, gave a masterful performance as Helene. I felt for her and she had me near to tears with her moving performance. I can safely say that a star is definitely born with this great film. I agree with the view that she deserves an Oscar nomination this year, but at this point in time it is hard to say if she will win. I feel this year's Oscar nominees are:

Cate Blanchett: I'm Not There
Romola Garai: Atonement
Jennifer Jason Leigh: Margot At The Wedding
Amy Ryan: Gone Baby Gone
Reese Witherspoon: Rendition

she should be nominated. I saw the movie last night and thought, who is that? I was blown away. I haven't been this bothered by a performance since in Rinko Kikuchi in "Babel." I was haunted by it, and her possible future, all night long. Wow. If she doesn't get a nom, there is something seriously wrong with the Academy.

There will be no nomination for Witherspoon, that is a certainty.
