Seriously, if the trauma was serious enough that he had fractures in his orbital sockets, wouldn't that entire area have immediately swollen up?
That's not to mention that it would have to be a really bad fall to cause that kind of damage! I.e., not the kind of bump on the head that you can just dismiss.
