A Fine Frenzy

I'm really disappointed that she gave up on her music to focus on acting... I hope she changes her mind about it.

Not hard to tell why:

Album 1: U.S. Billboard's Top Heatseekers #1 (sold 300,000 copies)

Album 2: US Billboard 200 #28

Album 3: US Billboard 200 #62

She was not trending in the right direction.

yeah, I agree.
Her music will be missed; and to be honest, when I read about her announcing "A Fine Frenzy" disbanded I was kinda angry.
Well -
maybe "Pines" wasn't as succesful as she hoped it would be.

i heard today that she is releasing new music this year under her own name. so AFF is over but alison continues. hooray! i'm so glad because i've missed hearing new music from her. re: what someone else said about record sales, i don't think she expected pines to be a big hit anyway.

reply

okay, this comes a little late, but I'd be super-happy if you're right!!
besides of writing OST to a tv show she's got nothing scheduled in the moment as actress.
Maybe she's already writing on a new album...
Pines was probably a labour of love...
in the face of the profit-focussed pop music-business I often forget that there are also singers out there who don't really care about the profit, who make music because they love it, the happier I'd be to hear her again!

cheers

To be honest, her third album was very disappointing. I love the self titled & bomb in a birdcage. But the one about waves, grass, or whatever, didn't stuck with me.
