Paul Pelosi made a stock purchase of over $1 million in a computer chip company just weeks before a potential vote in Congress which would give a massive subsidy to the industry.

Mr. Pelosi made a purchase of between $1 million and $5 million shares of Nvidia, a semiconductor company, according to a disclosure filing made by Speaker Pelosi's office. He exercised 200 call options, or 20,000 shares, the disclosure states. The disclosure raised eyebrows, as Reuters reported that the Senate could vote on a bill that contains billions of dollars in subsidies within the semiconductor industry as early as Tuesday.

You can't have insider knowledge of the result of an impending "potential" vote.

reply

Potential ? Of course they're gonna vote yes, the main interest here is moving chip production to USA from Taiwan.

reply

I'm pretty sure the OP is talking about the share trading. And not the location of chip production. (Why would the the govt subsidise a US firm that is not manufacturing in the US? Unless it was necessary to lower chip prices in order to stimulate trade in other electronics manufacturing that uses them in the US)

reply

I know its about share trading. Since Nvidia is the biggest chip designer, TSMC the biggest manufacturer, and its production gonna move to USA, I'd bet Nvidia not gonna be fabless for eternity (with help of TSMC of course). Pelosi is going with the flow(he knows for SURE US govt is going to invest massively in semiconductor manufacture) and buying stock in the future leader of semiconductors - Nvidia. If you asked me, I'd wager TSMC not gonna be around in 10-15 years.

reply

yep, then how did Mr Pelosi know when to buy the stocks?

reply

Because impending votes in congress are public knowledge.

reply

its a good thing he is married to someone in congress who is aware of when votes are going to take place.

reply

You don't need to be in congress or married to anyone in congress to know when votes are going to take place.

reply

its also a good thing paul is married to someone in congress because the police still refuse to release the body cam footage of pauls dui arrest. some have speculated that there was prostitute in the car with him.

reply

Stop embarrassing yourself.

Paul Pelosi, the multimillionaire husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, allegedly had a drug in his system, addressed officers with slurred speech, and tried to hand them a police courtesy card during his May arrest on DUI charges, according to court documents.

Pelosi allegedly handed officers his driver’s license and an "11-99 Foundation" card when they asked for his ID, according to the documents. The 11-99 Foundation is a California Highway Patrol charity that supports officers and provides scholarships for their children.

Does Donald Trump need a campaign slogan? With the disaster known as the Democrats, there's NO WAY the Democrats can cheat without another bullshit disease....which they are cooking up as I type and leaving the cemetery gates open in new areas on election day....

reply

Trouble I see is that the heads of the Republican Party are fighting just as hard to keep him out of the campaign. They don't want the excess baggage he brings with him to reflect on them. That's why they are actively looking for a candidate.
