Fantastic Actor

I love any kind of acting talent that can easily go from Theater, to Film and to TV without too much fuss. I'm sure most probably know him for playing Q in the recent Bond films and the recent Mary Poppins, Cloud Atlas and the voice of Paddington (which he was perfectly cast for).

You probably need to go for his TV work and his more obscure work to see him at his very best. In Films, I think his performance in Perfume: The Story of a Murderer is probably the biggest role he's been given in a film. He's excellent in it. Bright Star is another one that he's great in. He's play Keith Richard's in Brian Jones biopic Stoned, done a few films with Daniel Craig before Bond, Layer Cake and Enduring Love probably been the most well known. He's made good indie work like Lilting and My Brother Tom, which are well worth seeking out. A good turn's in the Lobster and I'm Not There. He's small turns in big Hollywood films. He's had a good Film career.

But it's in TV where you see him at very best. 2011's BBC Show The Hour, was fantastic but cancelled after two seasons which is a shame. He's excellent and won awards for his turn in the very good A Very English Scandal. He was very good in the hit and miss London Spy. Was Great in The Hollow Crown. Worth checking out his TV work as he get's more lead roles in them.
