Her british accent

I just watched her Conan interview. I had no idea she was canadian. Her british accent on Orphan Black is pretty much perfect.

I agree as well. And so many say she isn't pretty. I think she's beautiful and her incredible acting makes her even more so.

I agree, also. She is one of my favorite actresses. I am an artist, and, I find her more beautiful than 99.9% of all other celebrities. She is a amazing actress. I can't think of anyone else that could play all of the clones on Orphan Black as brilliantly as Tatiana. Her accents are spot on.

I just started watching Orphan Black.. only on episode 3.. I am from England myself and to be honest at the start when we didn't know where she was from I thought she was Australian from the accent.. so yeah.. I don't think its THAT great.

Here's a link to her dialogue/accent coach explaining what they are doing with the various accents. To those who question her English accent, listen to that part of the essay. And the essay has audio clips so you can hear the coach's explanation and examples.

Interesting link. They put a lot of thought into it. I have to say, I am not British but in the very first episode I was really confused with why they were putting on British accents (didn't sound real to me). I then wondered if that's how they speak in that part of Canada?! (I am very familiar with UK but not Canada.) But then they said she was English.

So they're referring to Sarah's accent as an Estuary accent in that particular video clip, which is kind of interesting to me. First of all, I'm in agreement with one of the commenters on that site in that Estuary does not = Thames and area exclusively, so that's not right. Also, an Estuary accent can actually mean a lot of different things because it tends to be a mix of so many things, including RP and cockney, mockney, Southeast London dialects/slang, etc. etc. It's a very broad spectrum, which is kind of why I suspect they chose that, to give the actors involved some more leeway.

Sarah definitely leans towards more of the South London, slightly lower class with a usage of specific slang, but having said that, it's not a perfect accent. It's not the worst I've heard, and it's gotten better, but it's still far from being brilliant.

So other's from the UK had already complimented her British accent. I am English and I have to admit I was confused as to where she was from due to her accents. I was completely sold on her British accent!! I think she has done brilliant work on orphan black
