I just found out and came here for info…I'm not sure about it either even though I like Ed Helms.

Leslie just had a very particular comedy that went all the way down to even his look that completed what was the legend, Leslie Neilson. He was among . But, if Ed can pull off sly and hilariously cunning (I'm trying to imagine his Daily Show persona) it might be ok…It's just, you can't top Leslie Nielson.

*edit* Actually…I'm starting to see a resemblance between the two.

Leslie Nielsen, even in his current state, is funnier than Ed Helms ever has been or will be

I agree that Nielsen is funnier than Helms even dead. That said, after reading about the Naked Gun reboot he will be named Frank Drebin but he wont be "the" Frank Drebin. So despite that he'll have the exact same name he'll be a different guy. They are silly movies after all. Heck they might not even make the movie anyway. I'd still like to see it even without Nielsen.
