'The Hangover' trailer

I know Hollywood magic is incredible stuff, but the scenes where Ed is missing a tooth look very real. I wonder if it was digitally removed or it was an implant he volunteered to have taken out for the flick.
Does anybody know?

Ed Helms is actually missing a tooth in real-life and he removed his cap to film The Hangover:)
