The best filmography of any actress under 40?

I'd say so.

It's definitely in for a shout that's for sure.

The Favorite, La La Land, Easy A, The Help, Superbad, Zombieland, Birdman, Battle of the Sexes and Crazy Stupid Love

But she's got a few duds there, and she's especially miscast in a few. Gangster Squad (she's no Femme Fatale) and. Aloha (she's not Asian). She's fine in her Woody Allen outings but neither are his top work. Spiderman films aren't great, not cause of her or Garfield. Movie 43, nuff said.

She's more hit then miss, I find her more interesting when she does more artier fare. The Favorite is her best performance to date for me. She needs to play more nastier characters cause she was great in that.

Yeah she has been in some poor movies (and one TERRIBLE one: Movie 43) but overall She's on more good ones.

reply

That's true, I'd put her in more hit then miss section. She's got a nice mix of Indie Oscar fair, with commercial comedy and romance films. I find her at her strongest when she's outside the commercial side of things. She's been miscast in a few things, like I said she's no gangster moll type like she was in Gangster Squad. Movie 43 is probably every actor or actress who appeared in that thing worse film on their C.V's lol.

movie 43 is a superb film...

jowilli from the future agrees.

Emily Blunt has some good films on her CV with A Quiet Place, Sicario, Edge of Tomorrow, Looper, and sequels to 2 of those in the pipeline. She wouldn't be far off.

reply

She's becoming a legend.

reply

I would agree.

reply

I would think so, yes and it is only getting better.

If we've now redefined "better" to mean "Recitations of Woke pieties like Poor Things are superior to Problematic, traumatizing films like Superbad and Easy A", then, yeah... Stone's filmography since '16 will be remembered as the highlight of her career, rather than yet another casualty of the priggishness that stifled America in the aftermath of Trump
