I agree that it’s definitely a tacky outfit. Yet I understand why she feels the need to do it. Young, attractive, females have a power not unlike that of rock stars and politicians, and she’s expressing that power while she’s got it. She could probably coast on her looks alone for the next 5 to 10 years. The thing is, her career will likely come to an end in the relatively near future, so hopefully a responsible adult in her life (ideally her parents) have placed her earnings in a trust fund in such a way that she is set for life.
Otherwise, she will be calling on Paul Petersen (Aka Jeff from The Donna Reed Show) and we’ll be hearing of another tragic tale of woe from a former child starlet.

Except that she would have looked a lot more attractive in a regular dress rather than that gaudy atrocity, and without all that makeup and fake eyelashes. Like really, she has a pretty face with good skin - what is the need for such overkill??
Besides, one of the tenets of dressing well is dressing for the occasion. She comes off as altogether unbalanced dressed like that in that context, and I would say that she looks like a porn star, except that there are probably porn stars who look classier than that.
