This guy should play Sherlock Holmes:

I've read every Holmes story at least 10 times and one thing I've noticed most actors are lacking is Holmes never nervous/never serious/always joking around personality. Even in The Final Problem when he's at his most vulnerable he's still making jokes about it. I was watching Matt in Dr. Who and he's got all of those character traits down pat. I think he'd be the perfect Sherlock Holmes.

He would make a good Sherlock Holmes when he reaches middle age. I don't really hold with young sleuths. I like to see Sherlock Holmes played in the traditional manner. Mid forties to mid fifties. But I think Sherlock Holmes has been done to death already. I think we could do without anymore for the foreseeable future.

I just read moments ago that Moffat said if Cumberbatch had not already been cast for the part of Sherlock that Matt would have been a great match for the role.

But then we never would have known him as The Doctor. I like Capaldi and Tennant, but Matt Smith's is the only Doctor for me. He's the one who actually seems to make use of two hearts. I love him for that!
