On Sons of Anarchy's season one epi called "The Pull," Ms. Siff had a sex scene with Charlie "Buns" Hunnam! Mr. Hunnam exposed his bootie, which was all right with this viewer!

She does more stage work, she doesn't have an extensive television and film resume for an actor in their mid 30's. Although she was in school until 1990 after getting master's degree. So unless she was nude on stage, no to your question. She's been cast in a play starting next month playing the part of Aphra Behn in Liz Duffy Adams' "Or", directed by Wendy McClellan.

Besides doing nude scenes isn't going to do anything for her career, what she's been doing so far seems to keep her employed.

I noticed most of the women who did nude scenes in "The Red Shoe Diaries" years ago aren't doing much with their careers now.

Movies will make you famous; Television will make you rich; But theatre will make you good.

I think she is phenomenal. I saw her in a Lucy Thurber play in NYC and she was great. Cant wait to see Or,

"...I noticed most of the women who did nude scenes in "The Red Shoe Diaries" aren't doing much with their careers now..."

"The Red Shoe Diaries" hardly represent this business, Angelina Jolie,Diane Kruger,Natalie Portman,Megan Fox,Anna Paquin,Malin Åkerman,Uma Thurman, etc, all of them made nude scenes who helped a lot their careers.I could go on adding more and more actresses, but it is pointless.Nudity can help an actress a lot.

reply

Nudity has nothing to do with these actors careers, Megan Fox hardly can be mentioned in the same breath as Angelina Jolie and Uma Thurman, only Americans in the U.S. and hypocritical guys from certain Islamic countries have an obsession with nudity.

Anna Paquin is from Canada and nudity is allowed on Canadian television as are some curse words, and many female actors in Canada have done nude scenes, have you ever scene an episode of the U.S./Canadian series "The L Word" that was on Showtime? None of the female actors on that series needed nudity to advance their careers, Jennifer Beals, Pam Grier, Mia Kirschner (Who started acting at 14), Marlee Matlin, Cybil Shepherd were all pretty well established actors long before they did any nudity. Besides Ms. Paquin had established herself long before doing any nudity. I'm pretty sure she didn't have any nude scenes in the X-men films, "The Piano", "Jane Eyre", "A Walk on the Moon" or "Finding Forrester" none of these films were low profile films, she made her bones as an actor long before doing "True Blood", and the roles were all diverse,.

Ms. Paquin just did an interview for the Huffington post and stated the nudity doesn't bother her. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/06/10/anna-paquin-talks-true-bl_n_6 07867.html, but it hardly advanced her career, she's been in a lot of good films and has chosen a lot of good roles for herself.

Explain to me how actresses like Meg Ryan, Meryl Streep who has done nude scene when it was appropriate, but neither she nor Helen Mirren needed to do the nude scenes they've done to make their careers or win all those awards.

Ms. Jolie, Ms. Thurman and Anna Paquin don't just do nude scenes in every film or because some idiot director wants an uncalled for nude scene.

Natalie Portman started acting as small girl, so how the hell can you say her doing a nude scene helped her career. Her career has always been going upward as she gets older, and unlike Megan Fox who if she didn't do any nudity would not even be that recognizable, Hollywood is filled with "The It Girl of Moment" , Ms. Portman can actually act, she was thirteen when she did her second film entitled "Léon". That's the film that got her noticed, even though it wasn't a big blockbuster film.

Explain Scarlett Johannson, again another female actor who started out as a young ingenue, making her acting chops in films long before she ever did any nudity, even if she hadn't done any brief nudity she still would be where she is now.

Ms. Mirren did nudity both on the London Stage and in films, and television in the UK another country that allows nudity on television, because it's not that big of deal, and yet Ms. Mirren's most famous role is the one she played on television in "The Prime Suspect" series, and she wasn't nominated for an Academy Award several times for any film where she's nude, the Oscar she did win was for the film "The Queen". She has stated like most female actors from other countries, that she never had a problem doing nudity if the "ROLE" called for it, but just to do a film and do a nude scene that is not called for would be silly, and I agree with Ms. Mirren.

There are directors that shoot nude scenes for no reason but to see a female actor naked, and the footage isn't even used in the film.

I'd almost take you serious if you hadn't mentioned Ms. Fox. They put her in movies strictly for her looks, ironically the movie that first got her noticed was "Transformers", and I don't recall her being nude in that film, and none of her other films have even come close to showing she can actually act. I've seen the trailers for "Jonah Hex", and she can't act, and in spite of what Josh Brolin says, she's in the film for her looks, she plays Mr. Brolin's love interest in that film and he's old enough to be her father in real life, so yeah I guess all the female actors who haven't done any nudity, who can act, and are closer in age to Mr. Brolin just haven't done enough nudity to advance their careers to paly his love interest, ironically Ms. Jolie would have been a much better choice for the role, as would Ms. Thurman, and any other female actor over the age of 30 even Ms. Portman who is only 29 would have been a better choice.

But they're not trying to win any awards with "Jonah Hex" so putting Ms. Fox in the film is for one thing and one thing only, boys, young men, and old men who like Ms. Fox, and it's not because of her acting.

I'm in my 50s, and the "Red Shoe Diaries" represent the entertainment business just as much as any other film or television project, most of the male actors are still on the acting grid, and it's not the project that necessarily makes the actor, it's how the actor stands out in the project, and whether or not their performance was memorable.

I've seen a lot of actors do a lot with a few lines, early in their careers, and go on to have successful careers in the entertainment business. The nudity had nothing to do with it.

Meryl Streep's first film "Julia" was a small part but it got her noticed, her co-stars were Lynn Redgrave, and Jane Fonda yeah two more female actors who advance their careers long before doing any nude scenes, and there wasn't any nudity in the film.

I don't seem to recall Natalie Portman being nude in any of her earlier films as a teenager, and she's done nude scenes when they're called for in a film. Without the nudity she can still act.

Please go back and find any of the female actors from all the teenage flicks from the 80s who have advanced or helped their careers with nudity, "Porky's" (With the exception of Kim Cattrall who is British, and has stated she's comfortable with her body, and that Europeans don't have the same hang ups about nudity as U.S. audiences, the other women from this film had their careers go nowhere, and in Ms. Cattrall's case, she can actually act, she just as good in films and television with her clothes on, and Ms. Cattrall got noticed by a lot of people from doing guest spots on television even though she had been in a film before doing television.), "Hardbodies 1 & 2", "Screwballs", "Zapped 1 & 2" these were all mainstream films designed to get young men into movie theaters, there was no real story line, and all the young women were either nude, semi-nude, in their underwear or wearing bathing suits, that always seemed to come off for some reason just out of the blue.

Your argument doesn't hold water, there are too many female actors who never do nudity and have successful careers in the entertainment business. I guess you should have put Pamela Anderson in your list as well, she's a real thespian, and nudity has advance her career in the "Entertainment Business", because she is a celebrity actor.

Movies will make you famous; Television will make you rich; But theatre will make you good.
