Surprised at her age

I'm a fan of SOA and didn't realize that her and Charlie have a six year age gap (though their characters are high school sweet hearts). She's a great actress and fits the role well.

Me too.

Yeah, I was shocked to learn that she's almost 40. But I guess 40 isn't really old at all. Look at Sarah Silverman or Mary-Louise Parker or Lauren Graham. Must be a Raven-haired thing.

I never even suspected she was older until I read this! It makes sense, though. She's obviously meant to be more "adult" than Jax in the conventional ways, like she has an older soul, at least at the beginning. She totally doesn't look 39 either. I think it helps that she doesn't wear a ton of makeup, & she keeps her naturally fair skin. I always figured that was to help set her apart from all of the skanks that are constantly after Jax. She's their complete opposite in every possible way. Nothing ages a woman faster than drag makeup, fake'n'baking, chain smoking & general hard living.

I think Drea is even older.

Drea is older than Maggie I think. But Drea also looks her age, or even older. They had her wear so much makeup and she always looked so "hard" as Wendy. I honestly couldn't get past how old she looked for the last couple of seasons. She was no longer a junkie but she still looked like one.
