shareShe wasn't fired. Her character's storyline reached it's natural conclusion. She appeared in one episode in season two titled "The New Girl" where they tied up the loose end of the Rachel Menken(Katz)/Don Draper storyline. Don's a serial cheater he couldn't really stay with her forever or the show would not have really gone anywhere.
