Ah, he is African because Egypt is in Africa. So he is African- American.

I really don't think that this is a good analogy.

Egypt is in the African continent, so people who are Egyptian are also African. Just like anyone living in North America is North American. Saying someone in Canada is Mexican would instead be like claiming someone from Egypt is Nigerian (two completely different countries). Now, it is possible for someone living in Canada to be from Mexico originally, or for someone living in Egypt to be from Nigeria previously, making both possible to be Canadian and Mexican or Egyptian and Nigeria in that case.

Why is it that when someone tries to say an Egyptian is African, some people get all up in arms about this? It's ridiculous.

Most Americans are not blonde or blue eyed. This is not the 1800s.

It is on TV! They're mostly blonde/blue ..especially the women!
