Fans suing

If they win this I am going to start combing through movie trailers for stuff like that.

reply

Technically they have a point.

reply

Do I get a cut since I rented that movie last year?? 😜

reply

It looks like it would have to be a class action, if the two plantiffs paid $8 and are suing for $5 million, so yeah, probably.

reply

The suit is baseless. Many movies use cut scenes in trailers and the actors are compensated for it.

The thing I really think is crazy is they are asking for $5 million on behalf of all disappointed fans. Do they plan to distribute that among everyone who bought a ticket?

reply

That's the nature of class actions. But why would you consider a trailer with scenes cut from the movie valid? That makes no sense. It's blatant false advertising. (Of course, we're surrounded by mountains of blatantly false advertising, so maybe you are just turning a blind eye.)

I would say that $5 million seems high. Are they suing on behalf of all ticket-buyers or on behalf of just those ticket-buyers who saw the offending trailer? Only the second group was defrauded, unless by word of mouth counts as well.

reply

Moronic lawsuit. That said, if they win, I propose a class action suit against Disney because that scene where the Hulk was running through Wakanda wasn't in Infinity War. Let's get paid.

reply

What shady ass wipe lawyer took this suit? They should be disbarred.
